Bedding other stocks with pillars
Out of stock
Bedding the contact areas between the stock and the action removes potential stress. This is important to keep the action from actually moving around in the stock under recoil.
Stocks without a bedding block are bedded using aluminum pillars between the bottom metal/trigger guard and the action. We bed the pillars into the stock then open up the holes as needed to give proper clearance to the action screws. To open up the pillars we use a mill to precisely perform the task.
A proper bedding job requires removal of any previous bedding material. If we need to remove old bedding there may be an additional slight upcharge.
The last step is coating the barrel channel for an aesthetically pleasing finish.
