You can change the brightness of the Vortex Venom and Viper to suit your surroundings (10 brightness options). The Venom features an Auto mode brightness function; however, the Viper does not. However, if the price is an issue, then Vortex Viper red dot is the most affordable. If you require a heavy-duty sight, the Trijicon RMR Type 2 will serve you better.
